The Gold Coast SUNS have celebrated another major milestone in the lead up to their 2011 AFL season debut with over 8,000 signing up for Foundation Memberships.

The opportunity to become a GC SUNS Foundation Member will close at the end of this month, leaving just seven days for football fans to secure their place in history.

The benefits of becoming a Foundation Member will last a life time. 2010 members will receive priority access to membership packages for the GC SUNS debut 2011 Toyota AFL Premiership Season and all Foundation Members of the club will be personally recognised in the Gold Coast Stadium.

GC SUNS Fan Development Manager Christina Johns said it is truly amazing to see the community get behind the club.

“We are very proud to announce this milestone. This year has shown how passionate the Gold Coast community is about having its own AFL team. To have over 8,000 paid up members in our VFL season has been overwhelming and we look forward to rewarding them with access to purchase the best seats in our brand new stadium later this year.

“On behalf of the Gold Coast SUNS I would like to personally thank each and every one of our members for their support this year and look forward to sharing a very proud moment with them in 2011 when our team runs out in the AFL for the first time.”

If you are a fan of football or a proud Gold Coast local, it’s not too late to get on board.

If you’ve been waiting for next year or have thought about joining this year, now is your last chance to rise up and join the march as a Foundation Member before the opportunity officially closes on August 31,” Johns said.

2010 inaugural memberships are $45 for adults, $25 for juniors and $100 for a family (2 adults and 2 juniors).
