Today Metricon Stadium once again played host to a swarm of over 300 Gold Coast grade four students for the Gold Coast SUNS SHINE Carnival. In what was perhaps the most diverse group of students to be involved in the program, the Carnival welcomed students from Jubilee State School, Nerang State School, St Vincent’s Catholic Primary School and the Australian International Islamic School.
Student’s smiled and laughed all day long as they enjoyed the AFL Play Ground, participated in a wide range of activities on the training oval, were treated to a Stadium Tour, received heaps of prizes and giveaways and of course, met and received autographs from some of the Gold Coast SUNS players.
Students and teachers alike were once again blown away by the enthusiasm and level of engagement of the Gold Coast SUNS players. Whether it was taking a stadium tour, playing games in the AFL Playground, signing autographs or answering questions, the players were fantastic. In attendance for the SHINE Carnival this time around were Harley Bennell, Maverick Weller, Lewis Moss, Joel Wilkinson, Dion Prestia and Jacob Gillbee.
