The Gold Coast SUNS was a proud attendee at the Ormeau Fair on the weekend.

Organised by Lions International, the Ormeau Fair has grown from strength to strength since its humble beginnings in 2004. Nowadays close to 10,000 people enjoy the two-day traditional country fair.

The Gold Coast SUNS promotions team’s kicking and handball target drew quite a crowd, so too GC SUNS players Karmicheal Hunt, Michael Coad and Jack Hutchins who signed autographs and chatted with locals.

Their attendance at the event was a coup for local juniors club Ormeau Bulldogs. From all reports the GC SUNS presence helped the Bulldogs sign up plenty of potential junior players for the 2011 season.

Ormeau is located in the Gold Coast’s Northern Growth Corridor, a part of the Gold Coast set to receive special attention from the GC SUNS - the club resolved early on in its life to commit time and resources towards the encouragement of community participation in the region.
