Gold Coast SUNS midfielder Daniel Harris says the weekend’s two victories over the Sydney Swans and Greater Western Sydney will go a long way to help build a successful culture at the new Club.

"You want to create a winning culture so it was a good start," Harris said following the teams recovery session at Kurrawa Beach.

Harris flagged this week’s trip across the country as a massive test for the young group.

"It will be a big test for those young guys who probably never have travelled to Perth to play a game before," he said.

"Once again the older guys really need to lead the way. It is another game of footy but it is going to be a test."

Harris, who played 149 games for the Kangaroos, before sitting out the 2010 season to play with the Gold Coast SUNS in the VFL said he was enjoying his football.

"Last year in the VFL I've really enjoyed my football so I've really got back to making sure I enjoy myself,"

"I've tried to help in developing these young kids as quickly as I can because as soon as they develop it is more likely we will have success early."

"We have a long way to go and there is a lot of work to do but the boys are excited after having a taste of it.
Harris, a members of the GC SUNS leadership group is scheduled to play his 150th AFL game in the GC SUNS AFL debut against Carlton at the Gabba on Saturday April 2.
