On the eve of the 2011 AFL Draft, the Gold Coast SUNS do not have as much on their mind as rival clubs.
Compared to last years draft when the GC SUNS finalised its list for their inaugural season with nine selections, including 8 of the first 13 selections, the club will enter the draft with just one live selection.
Phantom drafts across the country have linked several players the GC SUNS, but all will be revealed when List Manager, Scott Clayton reads out the players name with selection 24 on Thursday evening.

While the GC SUNS dominated the 2010 Draft, this years draft will be focused on the GWS Giants. The Giants hold selections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 9, 10, 11, 13, 14, 56 & 79 at the draft.
The first round of the Draft will be announced from selection 10 down to selection one. The top 10 will then be presented on stage and this will be followed by a three-minute break. Round one will then continue from selection 11 to 30, this includes priority and compensation selections (selections 27-30) which will be ‘live’.
The first round plus the priority and compensation selections is expected to conclude at approximately 6.30pm (EST).
Rounds two and three will proceed with a short break between each round. Rounds four, five, six, seven and eight will be completed in one group.
