The Gold Coast SUNS have named an unchanged line-up to take on Greater Western Sydney this Sunday at Metricon Stadium.
Coming off a 10-day break, Stuart Dew and his coaching staff have opted to stick with the same side that put in a strong four quarter performance against the Bulldogs in Round 8.
In exciting news for SUNS members and fans, Ben Ainsworth will play his 50th AFL match and has been named in the forward line.
Speaking throughout the week, Ainsworth said it was nice to reach the milestone but was more focussed on the team getting a good result on the matchday.
“It’s obviously pretty pleasing for some individual accolades,” Ainsworth said.
“It’s been a bit of a journey along the way with a few injuries and what-not but I’m happy to get there and hopefully we can get the win this week.”
Senior Coach Stuart Dew said the team was looking forward to getting back out at Metricon Stadium against the GIANTS.
“It’s been a good week, we’re looking forward to the opportunity, obviously they’ve hit some form so that’s good, we’ll welcome that and can’t wait for Sunday, it’s been a while,” said Dew.
Will Brodie, Corey Ellis, Peter Wright and Jesse Joyce have all been named as emergencies.
The match against GWS gets underway at Metricon Stadium from 3:35pm and will be broadcast on Fox Footy, 7mate (check your local guide), Kayo and the AFL Live Official App.
