The Gold Coast SUNS have advised seven players their contracts will not be renewed for 2021.

Corey Ellis, Josh Schoenfeld, Mitch Riordan, Sam Fletcher and academy graduates Jesse Joyce, Jacob Dawson and Jacob Heron were each informed of the club’s decision not to renew their contracts during their individual review meetings.

General Manager – Football Operations, Jon Haines thanked the players for the significant contribution they had made to football club.

“This year has been an incredibly difficult period for player departures given the level of connection and sense of belonging that everyone involved with the playing group is feeling,” Haines said.

“On behalf of everyone involved with the Gold Coast SUNS, including our Members and supporters, we would like to take the opportunity to thank each player for their commitment and contribution to the football club. They are all outstanding young men with wonderful opportunities in front of them and we wish them every success for what lies ahead.”

The GC SUNS have until November 20^th to lodge their initial 2021 playing list to the AFL..
