There were some standout AFL Fantasy performances from Gold Coast’s Round 5 AFL match and SUNS Media have outlined some of the best prospects below.
Jy Farrar (FWD – $256k)
Coming in for his first game of the year and just second career match, Jy Farrar stood tall on the weekend. Opposing a daunting key forward in Tim English, Farrar performed his role superbly and found plenty of the ball to finish with a Fantasy score of 86 (21 disposals, eight marks, two tackles).
Priced at just $256k, Farrar will be a popular trade-in target this week. SUNS Senior Coach Stuart Dew praised the 24-year-old defender’s impact in the match which bodes well for his position in the side going forward. With a breakeven of -3, Farrar should continue to see price rises in the coming weeks after going up $34k in Round 5.
Brandon Ellis (MID – $763k)
The SUNS winger is in outstanding form so far in 2021, notching his fourth consecutive Fantasy ton on the weekend with a score of 120. His score was made up of 27 disposals (19 kicks, eight handballs), a game-high 14 marks and one tackle.
Ellis has access to high Fantasy scores due to his elite work-rate allowing him to stretch the ground and accumulate uncontested marks. He also usually operates at a great kick-to-handball ratio which is healthy for his Fantasy prospects. Boasting an average of 110, Ellis is the 10th-best Fantasy scorer through the first five rounds and should continue to be a beneficiary of the SUNS’ desire to move the ball quickly through the middle of the ground.
Touk Miller (MID - $775k)
Miller fought hard on the weekend and finished with 27 disposals (11 kicks, 16 handballs), eight marks and five tackles for a Fantasy score of 103. It was the SUNS vice-captain’s second Fantasy ton in a row and third for the year.
Currently averaging 106 for the season, Miller is a consistent performer in the SUNS midfield and it is reflected in his Fantasy output with the on-baller ranked 15th in the competition for AFL Fantasy points. He’s shown a ceiling with a high score of 140 this year and would be a quality unique option for your team with just 1% ownership.
