Gold Coast SUNS captain Gary Ablett has been nominated for Goal of the Year for his unbelievable second quarter goal against the GWS Giants on Saturday afternoon at Metricon Stadium.
After a long kick into the forward line, the ball came off a pack and into the hands of Ablett who was 20 metres from goal at the time.
The little master dummied a kick on his right but was forced to backtrack with two Giants opponents closing on him. Ablett then faked a kick on his left to get rid of Giants defender Sam Frost before switching back onto his preferred right foot to snap truly from 30 metres out.
To win Goal of the Year, Ablett needs the support from the fans with public voting to determine the weekly winner.

Ablett is the third SUNS player to be nominated for Goal of the Year in 2014 after David Swallow and Sean Lemmens were both nominated in Round 3 for their goals against Brisbane.
