Gold Coast SUNS defender Rory Thompson is poised to make his return to football after successfully rehabilitating a knee injury sustained in Round 11.
Thompson suffered damage to his Meniscus in the SUNS clash against Western Bulldogs and Head Physiotherapist Lindsay Bull is confident he is nearing a competitive return.
The defender will be monitored throughout training this week before being deemed eligible for VFL or AFL selection.
No other injuries were sustained in the club’s bye week with the SUNS now turning their focus to the Adelaide Crows this Sunday at Metricon Stadium.
