Gold Coast captain Jarrod Witts has been recognised with one of three nominations by the AFL Players’ Association for the MVP of the month award.
Witts has had a dominant season so far, and has been even more colossal in his three matches this month where he averages 38 hit-outs, 14 disposals and seven clearances per game.
The 29-year-old has been nominated alongside Melbourne’s Clayton Oliver and Richmond’s Liam Baker.
Witts currently forms part of the competition’s most damaging ruck/rover combination with fellow captain Touk Miller, with the pair ranked first overall for average clearances per match.
A Witts hitout leads to a Miller clearance on average 2.4 times per game in 2022.
