Top-age SUNS Academy players Alana Gee & Brinn Little have been recognised as the 2022 Academy Players of the Year.
Gee, a product from Mackay who was taken in the first round of the 2022 NAB AFLW Draft, has had an outstanding draft year for the SUNS Academy.
A member of the NAB AFLW Academy, Gee was named Queensland’s MVP at this year’s NAB AFLW Under-18 Championships after averaging 24 disposals per game.
The 18-year-old was also named on the wing in the 2022 NAB AFLW Under-18 All-Australian team.
Little has continued his development in the SUNS Academy as a 19-year-old in 2022.
The hard-working key defender was named in the Allies Squad to compete at the 2022 NAB AFL National Championships for the second year in a row.
Little has also been heavily involved in the SUNS VFL program this season, playing five games for the club.
Gee and Little join a list of former Academy Players of the Year which include Ellie Hampson, Connor Budarick, Bodhi Uwland and Teagan Levi.
