Lachie Weller was dominant early, utilising his bursts of speed and agility to rebound out of the SUNS defensive half, finishing with a game-high 838 metres gained, 30 touches and 11 rebound 50s.
Battling hard until the final siren, Noah Anderson led the possession count with a career high 37 touches as well as laying 10 tackles, and he also contributed to the scoreboard with a goal.
Captain Touk Miller continued to apply the pressure, leading the SUNS clearance count (10) as well as amassing eight tackles and accumulating 32 disposals and a goal assist late in the game.
Reliable in defence, Sam Collins worked hard across four quarters despite the Saints’ relentless attack, accumulating 13 intercept possessions (6 in the first quarter) and 16 one percenters.
Levi Casboult was a presence in the forward half, drawing plenty of the opposition attention, with one goal, three score involvements and 11 hitouts assisting newcomer Ned Moyle.
Moyle was commendable on debut finishing with a game high 36 hitouts as well as seven tackles.
The pressure from Nick Holman was regularly felt, also contributing with six score involvements in the match.
