Key defender Vivien Saad is in contention for her first game of the 2023 AFLW season.
The Season Seven All-Australian squad member has been named on an extended bench for the SUNS’ home clash against the Western Bulldogs at Heritage Bank Stadium on Sunday evening.
Giselle Davies and Ella Maurer are also in contention for their first appearances of 2023, both players have been named on the extended bench.
All 21 players who took the field in the Round 3 win over Collingwood have been named in the 25-player squad with the final side to be finalised on Friday afternoon.
The two sides last met in Season Six with that contest ending in a draw at Heritage Bank Stadium. Tara Bohanna kicked two goals that afternoon while Charlie Rowbottom led all comers with 25 touches.
It’s set to be a blockbuster afternoon at Heritage Bank Stadium on Sunday with SUNS fans invited into the stadium to watch the SUNS VFL in its inaugural Grand Final prior to first bounce in the AFLW clash. Gate 3 will open from 2.30pm with free entry until 4.15pm. Patrons entering after 4.15pm must have a match-access AFLW membership or paid ticket - $10 for adults and free for kids.
