Matt Rosa will take his place for the Gold Coast SUNS in its round 19 clash against Melbourne at the MCG on Sunday after overcoming a hamstring complaint.
The former Eagle was a late withdrawal from last week’s team but coach Rodney Eade confirmed Rosa would play at his Thursday press conference.
“Matt Rosa’s in. We’ll take 23 to Melbourne and make a final decision down there depending on weather and a few things,” Eade said.
“That’ll be the change. They did very well last week. Had a couple of sore players early in the week, just general soreness, but they’re all fine, they trained today.
“So he’s the only one that’s in at this stage.”
Trent McKenzie and Sean Lemmens have also been named on an extended interchange but are more likely to play in the SUNS’ reserves against Redland on Sunday as they look to regain fitness following time on the sidelines with injury.
The 25-man squad will be culled to a final 22 at 5PM on Friday.
