The SUNS U18 Girls squad overcame a slow start to record a 22-point victory while the U18 boys fell short after a strong start in the later game.
Dekota Baron had a day to remember, kicking four of the SUNS Girls’ six goals to go with 15 disposals, nine marks and 19 hitouts.
It was a SUNS dominance in the ruck with Havana Harris also recording 18 hitouts along with 28 disposals and four tackles.
Alannah Welsh and Aleah Stringer both got their names on the scoreboard while Heidi Talbot, Tara Harrington and Mia Salisburyjoined Baron, Harris and Welsh in the SUNS best.
Despite a strong start in which they kicked the first five goals, the SUNS fell 29 points short against the Stingrays.
Zeke Uwland impressed again with 22 disposals and a goal, while 2023 VFL premiership winner Leo Lombard (28 disposals, three marks, six inside 50s) and Jai Murray (22 disposals, nine marks, two goals) were strong.
Cooper Collins kicked a team-high three goals to join Lombard, Zai Millane, Koby Coulson, Harrison Gray and Dylan Patterson in the best for the SUNS.
Both sides now return to the Gold Coast to face the Geelong Falcons at the Austworld Centre Oval on Saturday.
