Tom Berry has been presented with the 2024 Jarrod Harbrow Community Award in recognition of his outstanding commitment and support to Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA).

After losing their mother Jedda to breast cancer in 2013, Berry and his brother Jarrod have become active ambassadors for BCNA, volunteering hundreds of hours of support over the last decade.

Tom and Jarrod spearheaded a significant fundraising effort ‘Marathon for Mum’, which saw the brothers run for over four hours in their hometown of Horsham, raising over $80,000 for BCNA in the process.

Beyond this landmark event, Berry continues to be dedicated to his participation in PLAY4BCNA campaigns, head shave events, and support of other major campaigns throughout the year.

To raise awareness of breast cancer, he coordinated for his teammates to wear pink socks during this season's QClash against the Brisbane Lions in Round 20.

Berry's personal story and leadership continue to inspire a great deal of involvement and fundraising, boosting awareness of breast cancer and guaranteeing ongoing funding for research.

Berry’s efforts have seen him also nominated for the AFL-wide Jim Stynes Community Leadership Award which will be presented at the 2024 Brownlow Medal.

The Jarrod Harbrow Community Award has been won by Jarrod Harbrow a record five times during his career at the SUNS, with other winners including Touk Miller (2017) and Zac Smith (2013).
