SUNS Senior Coach Stuart Dew says despite the loss to Richmond last week, motivation levels remain high for this week.
Speaking to the media on Friday morning, Dew praise the efforts of his co-captains David Swallow and Jarrod Witts on their role in driving the standard of the group.
“We’re challenging on making sure the motivation’s high but I think our leaders have done a really good job and Dave and Jarrod have been fantastic in that area,” Dew said.
“It’s their first year and we couldn’t ask for much more.”
The SUNS have the opportunity to atone for last weekend’s result with another home game this Saturday against Adelaide.
“We’ve trained well, that’s all you can do after a weekend like that is get back on the horse,” Dew said.
“We had a really good session last night, freshened up today and that’s the beauty of footy really every six or seven days you get another chance.
“We talked about it after the game, addressing the result, some accountability around that but also looking forward to bouncing back.”
Adelaide had a similarly disappointing result last weekend in the Showdown, losing by 57 points to Port Adelaide.
But Dew said he had no doubt the Crows would be back to their best on Saturday.
“What we do know is Adelaide will bounce back,” Dew said.
“Their second half was like our first half so they’ll be looking to respond as well and they’re a good footy club.”
The match kicks off at 7:25pm at Metricon Stadium.
