As the countdown until the season opener in Cairns continues, goldcoastfc.com.au have analysed another three SUNS players who could find their place in your AFL Fantasy forward line.
Tom Lynch (FWD) - $566,000
SUNS captain Tom Lynch headlines the list of Gold Coast forwards to consider in AFL Fantasy this year. Currently selected in less than 2% of sides, Lynch provides a tantalising point of difference with a very high ceiling who could easily finish as a top six forward by the end of the year.
Lynch kicked 44 goals in his 19 games last season, culminating in a fantasy average of 80.3. With Stuart Dew having tested Lynch at both full forward and centre half-forward throughout the pre-season, there is the potential for the captain to get his hands on the ball more often this year to increase his scoring output. At just $566,000, Lynch could be the man to give your fantasy team the edge this year.

Aaron Young (FWD) - $387,000
Coming over from Port Adelaide in the off-season, Aaron Young has impressed in his short time as a SUN. Listed as a forward in AFL Fantasy, Young has split most of his time between midfield and the forward line. If he is able to get enough midfield minutes, Young’s flexibility makes him a very attractive fantasy option.
The ex-Power forward managed just the 13 games for Port in 2017 where he averaged 55, but prior to that was a standout in 2016 with an average of 75. Now in a new environment and with the freedom to play his natural game, Young is a good chance to build on that 2016 form and rise sharply in value.

Darcy Macpherson (FWD) - $389,000
SUNS rookie Darcy Macpherson has thrived this pre-season under Stuart Dew’s new game plan. Playing as a small forward, Macpherson shone in the opening JLT match against Geelong with his 15 possessions (eight contested) and four tackles setting the tone for the match. The 20-year-old scored 55 and 56 in the two JLT matches, but looks set to take his game to the next level in 2018.
Macpherson will be aiming to firstly win, then maintain his spot in the best 22 this year after playing just twelve games over the last two seasons. It seems he is well-suited to the high pressure, high intensity style of football that Dew has introduced and could therefore be set for a breakout year in AFL Fantasy. Priced at $389,000, he is a left-field pick but one that could potentially pay big dividends.
