Q: How’s life on the Gold Coast and how is it different to life in Mlebounre playing for Collingwood? - @alec_the_bullet_abbott va Instagram
There’s a stark contrast. For one the weather up here is beautiful, for the last week it’s been about 20-25 every day.
Speaking to a few mates in Melbourne, it’s been quite cold. So on that front it’s quite different.
Coming from a big club that gets a lot of coverage to a club that’s a bit quieter, a bit out of the limelight, it’s quite a big difference.
Q: Who did you go for when you were younger? -@tomivak26 via Instagram
Growing up in Sydney I went for the Swannies.
Used to go out and watch them a fair bit on a Sunday afternoon with my Grandad.
Q: What do you like to do outside of footy? – @stevo_dog via Instagram
I like to get down to the beach of a morning, especially at the moment it’s beautiful down there.
If the body’s feeling pretty good I’ll have a hit of golf.
Apart from that I haven’t been doing much else to be honest.
Q: I want to become an AFL player, I want to know if you guys have any tips on what to do to become an AFL player? – @lachlan_midget_shipton via Instagram
I got into AFL pretty late, I think the thing for me was to always have a footy in my hands.
Just get used to kicking it around, kicking it back to yourself, picking it up off the ground.
Id say just keeping a footy in your hands as much as possible, around the house, annoy mum and dad with it breaking stuff.
That’s my one piece of advice.
Q: As a ruckman, what are your thoughts on the third man up rule – Robert Abrahams via Facebook
I love it, and I think you’ll find that most ruckman do enjoy not having to worry about a third man coming into the contest.
It helps, you don’t get knees in the kidneys and things like that.
Just allows it to be more of a one-on-one contest which is what as a ruckman you want to be able to do.
Q: Have you played AFL evolution? - By popular demand
I haven’t actually had a crack at it yet.
If it was there then sure I’d love to have a go but I haven’t had a play yet.
