All players accepted the sanctions offered by the Match Review Panel from its review of the matches played in round three of the 2017 Toyota AFL Premiership Season.

This included Gold Coast SUN Jarryd Lyons, who on Monday was charged by the Match Review Panel with striking Hawthorn player Liam Shiels in the first quarter of the round three match between the teams.

The incident was originally classified as a $1500 sanction, however, Lyons has no applicable record which impacts the penalty.

An early plea enabled Lyons to accept a $1000 sanction, which he has taken.
