The Gold Coast SUNS face one of the more difficult tasks in footy this weekend, travelling to Sydney to face premiership favourites Greater Western Sydney.
At Spotless Stadium in 2016, the Giants enjoyed a 75-point win over Hawthorn, a 25-point win over the Western Bulldogs and a 42-point victory against crosstown rival Sydney Swans as they look to turn it into a fortress.
Gold Coast’s maiden visit to the venue resulted in a 91-point thumping and although the SUNS were far more competitive against the Giants in round 20, last year’s preliminary finalists are a far tougher proposition at home.

SUNS coach Rodney Eade believes the game will be won in the midfield battle, which shapes as an enthralling contest between the two sides.
“Last time we played them here we had quite a few out and we got within eight points,” Eade told SUNS TV on Thursday.
“Previously in the year when we played them we got belted, I know we had a lot out, so having May back will help from the time we played them.
“We’ve got a better balanced side. Having said that we’ve got to deliver on the field so I think our midfield is where it’s going to be won or lost and that’s what we need to get right.”
If his side are to beat the Giants on their home deck, Eade is a firm believer that it will take a solid four-quarter performance with pressure and intensity paramount. The SUNS will also need to be efficient with their forward 50 entries, which they weren’t in the round one loss to Brisbane.

“I think the areas that we value, which we don’t talk publicly, but some non-negotiables we talk about, we probably let them slip the first 20 minutes of the game (against Brisbane),” Eade said.
“We certainly need to take our chances. That second quarter last week we weren’t very efficient going forward. We improved that after half time.
“Against such a good side we need to keep the pressure up, we need to play four quarters of hard, intense footy and if we can do that it gives ourselves a chance.”
