The Gold Coast SUNS are pleased to announce Sumo as a co-major partner of the Gold Coast SUNS AFLW team for the next two years.
The partnership will see Sumo’s logo displayed on the front of Gold Coast’s inaugural AFLW home and away playing guernseys, as well as on the back of the clash guernsey.
Gold Coast SUNS CEO Mark Evans said it was a historic moment for the club to be able to announce its first major partner of the AFLW team.
“We are thrilled to welcome such an iconic national business to the SUNS family as a co-major partner for our women’s team,” Evans said.
“Sumo, led by Luke Baylis, has grown to be one of Australia’s most popular health food brands with a commitment to fresh, nutritious and affordable food.
“Nutrition is an important aspect of the day-to-day lives of professional athletes and we are looking forward to working with Sumo to provide our players with great opportunities in this space.”
Baylis, the CEO and co-founder of Sumo, said the partnership will draw on the great synergies between the two businesses to support Sumo’s key objectives.
“We’re excited to partner with the Gold Coast SUNS AFLW team,” Baylis said.
“Healthy food is key to performance – whether that’s at work, at home or on the playing field.
“At Sumo we offer nutritious and delicious food both at SumoSalad stores and through our SumoWell and THR1VE ready meals range, available at grocers.
“This partnership enables us to share our passion for healthy food with a wider audience and support an incredible team.
“It’s a true privilege to support women’s footy and partner with the SUNS.”
Under the new partnership, the SUNS will utilise its digital, community and match day channels to promote the Sumo brand.
GC SUNS male and female players will also have access to a better understanding of health and nutrition best practice through collaboration with Sumo.
