The Gold Coast SUNS have made their final football department appointment of 2016, welcoming Jamason Daniels as Assistant Academy Coach.
The 25-year-old will join Andrew Raines and Jason Torney in the coaching, mentoring, welfare and overall development of the GC SUNS Talent Academy.

“I’m just ecstatic, I can’t wait to get up there and it’s something I never through would be possible 12 months ago — I never thought I’d be coaching let alone 12 months later be heading up to the Gold Coast in an AFL role,” he told The Weekly Times.
The Victorian native spent the last year as coach of Goulburn Valley Football League Club Tutura and as a former Western Bulldogs rookie has a personal relationship with GC SUNS senior coach Rodney Eade.
As a result, in mid-January Daniels was a guest of the GC SUNS, where he and two others spent time in a coaching education program to develop their skills under the leadership and guidance of Eade.

During his week with the SUNS the young coach was able to strategically develop his personal coaching style and gain training knowledge that will prove invaluable once he officially joins the team in February.
Daniels will also play a leadership role in the SUNS’ NEAFL team during his time with the Club.
