It’s been a whirlwind week for West Australian Josh Schoenfeld.
On Tuesday, Schoenfeld found out he’d be making his AFL debut and by the time the sun had set on Saturday, he had enjoyed his first win in SUNS colours with a drenching Gatorade shower.
“Unbelievable, best feeling in the world,” Schoenfeld told BLK RAW after the SUNS’ 24-point win over Fremantle.
“Words can’t describe it.”

The 19-year-old looked assured at the top level, with his performance exceeding all expectations.
Schoenfeld registered 19 disposals at 79% efficiency, eight marks, four tackles and providing plenty of link-up along the wing.
Last year’s No. 34 draft pick was happy just to play a role for the team.
“I was a bit nervous coming in. Hopefully get a few touches,” he said.
“So just to contribute in the way I did, I felt like I played a role for the team and that’s what counts.

“I pride myself on that (my ball use) so to use the ball like I did was a good stepping stone and it’s just upwards from here.”
With five games left in 2016, Schoenfeld is hoping to play under Rodney Eade’s tutelage as many times as he can with every learning beneficial heading into this summer’s pre-season.
“Just (looking to) finish off the year strong,” Schoenfeld said.
“Hopefully play the last few games and just build on for next year because this part of the year’s just about me improving and that’s what I want to do.”
