If the SUNS’ first two NAB Challenge games have proved anything, it’s that the talent pool for the Gold Coast has certainly deepened.
Gold Coast endured what can only been defined as a horror year in 2015, with injuries decimating their list.
Experience and talent sat helpless on the sidelines, forcing the young SUNS to step-up, in the process earning valuable time on the paddock many their age could only dream to be exposed to.
Touk Miller, who played all 22 games of his debut season (one of only 15 to have done so since 2000) and averaged 17 disposals, has declared his faith in the club’s ability to taste September action for the first time.

“I have no doubt this year we are going to be a very good chance to play finals footy with the team we have got,” Miller told The Gold Coast Bulletin.
In the off-season, the SUNS implemented a new training regime under Elite Performance Director Justin Cordy, which has been consistently praised by the players.
Combined with a fruitful trade period and the injection of young blood from the National and Rookie Draft, the SUNS are well positioned going into 2016.
“Finals have been a massive goal for us in the last few years and although we haven’t succeeded yet I think it’s something we are going to do,” Miller said.

“The club has gone in a really good direction and everyone has jumped on board and buying into what we think is a really good program now.”
“Hopefully that can flow into some really good finals football this year.”
