The Gold Coast SUNS have today launched an exciting new partnership with GoldlinQ to help promote an important community message.
‘Don’t drop the ball – just buy a ticket’ is a new community awareness campaign aimed at ensuring all passengers who travel on public transport travel with a valid ticket.

The campaign will see a larger than life David Swallow, Touk Miller and Paige Parker travelling across the Gold Coast, emblazoned on a 43-metre long tram, amongst various other assets across social media, G:link stations and whilst travelling on-board the tram.
Gold Coast SUNS Chief Executive Mark Evans said public transport is the most convenient way to get to Metricon Stadium and partnering with G:link was a great opportunity to encourage locals to come and support the Gold Coast’s AFL and AFLW teams.
“We are a community focused club and this partnership provided us with a great opportunity to work closely with G:link to help promote an important community message,” Evans said.
“Our players are working hard ahead of the 2020 season to ensure they ‘Don’t drop the ball’, and we want to ensure commuters prepare the same way before riding the G:link.”
Free public transport to all SUNS games is included with a valid event ticket and is available on G:link services and buses for four hours prior to the main event and until four hours post the end of the event.
“Each game day there are shuttles running direct to Metricon Stadium from Broadbeach South making it easy for Gold Coaster’s to support both the women’s and men’s teams in 2020,” Evans said.
GoldlinQ CEO Phil Mumford said the campaign provided the a great opportunity to use some of our local sporting stars to help drive an important message.
“It’s fantastic to be working with the Gold Coast Suns in 2020 with the club launching its inaugural team in the AFLW competition,” he said.
“We are excited to have Paige involved in the campaign alongside David and Touk with both teams preparing for a big season on the field.”
“Working with the SUNS is a great way to promote the simple message that you must have a valid ticket whenever you travel on any public transport, including G:Link.”
The fine for travelling without a ticket is $266 so the message is simple – don’t drop the ball just buy a ticket.
