Former Gold Coast SUNS ruckman Josh Fraser will join the Club’s coaching panel as a development coach.
Fraser, 31, has long held an ambition to pursue coaching and development opportunities in the AFL, completing the Level Two Coaches’ Course and the Next Coach Program.
Excited about the prospect of returning to Metricon Stadium after completing his 218-game AFL career on the Gold Coast, Fraser told goldcoastfc.com.au he was looking forward to reacquainting himself with the GC SUNS, it’s coaches and players.
"I’m excited to be coming back to the Gold Coast. I really enjoyed my time at the club as a player, and look forward to continuing my association with the Club as a coach."
"It’s fantastic that the opportunity to pursue my coaching career has led me back to the SUNS. It's a Club that I am extremely passionate about and is close to my heart, I can't wait to get back involved," Fraser said.
The No. 1 pick in the 1999 AFL National Draft, Fraser played 200 games with Collingwood before joining the Gold Coast SUNS at the end of 2010, playing 18 games over two seasons.
Fraser was part of ABC radio's football commentary team in 2013, where, in his first season on the air, was Highly Commended in the category of Most Outstanding Special Commentator - Radio, at the AFL Media Associations annual awards night.
