Kade Kolodjashnij has been awarded a Goal of the Year nomination after his superb run through the midfield to complete one of the most exciting six-pointers for the season.
Gold Coast’s top selection from last year’s national draft gave the home crowd reason to celebrate on Sunday, when the SUNS were down by 34 points midway through the final term.
Kolodjashnij ran hard after a quick one-two with skipper Gary Ablett, getting the Sherrin to Charlie Dixon before getting it back for the third time in the passage of play.
The Tassie terrier attacked the 50m arc, selling the candy to Rhyce Shaw before sliding on his preferred left-foot and drilling it home for a goal.
He joins George Horlin-Smith (Geelong) and Jarman Impey (Port Adelaide) as the three chosen nominees for round twelve.
