Gold Coast will prepare to front a full-strength Adelaide midfield brigade in this Sunday’s clash at Adelaide Oval, after Crows superstar Patrick Dangerfield was cleared of serious injury following his team’s five-point loss to Carlton.
The 24-year-old co-captain required treatment to his shoulder after colliding with a Blues opponent midway through the second quarter, playing out the rest of the match with a back complaint.
He was able to push through and make a sizeable impact against the Navy Blues at the MCG on Sunday evening, finish with 11 clearances from his 25-disposal performance.
After being assessed further by the Crows medical staff, Dangerfield has been given the green light to lead his team against the SUNS this weekend.
“Scans have cleared acting co-captain Patrick Dangerfield of any structural damage to his back following a heavy collision against Carlton on Sunday,” Adelaide’s club website read.
“Dangerfield is expected to play Gold Coast this weekend.”
The two-time All Australian was influential in last season’s round 14 encounter at Metricon Stadium, picking up 27 touches and eight clearances opposed to Jaeger O’Meara.
