Gold Coast midfielder Karmichael Hunt will miss this week’s match against West Coast at Patersons Stadium with a knee injury.
As revealed by goldcoastfc.com.au on Tuesday, the high-profile code hopper overcame a minor knee complaint to play against Sydney on Sunday.
Hunt aggravated the injury during the game and as a result was unable to complete the team’s main training session on Wednesday, subsequently being ruled out of the round thirteen fixture according to General Manager of Football Operations, Marcus Ashcroftt.
“Karmichael reported knee soreness to our medical staff following the side’s match against Sydney,” Ashcroft said.
“He was unable to complete training yesterday, but we’re confident he will be available next week.”
After finding form in the NEAFL, Aaron Hall and Alex Sexton have been rewarded with a senior recall.
Their explosive run and carry will be well suited to Subiaco’s wider playing surface, and Ashcroft expects Gold Coast speedsters to make an impact this weekend.
“Aaron and Alex both went back to the reserves, and performed well following their omission from the senior team,” he said.
“They responded the right way, and therefore deserve another opportunity at the top level.”
