Gold Coast SUNS recruiters have jumped straight into the action the the NAB Draft Combine at Etihad Stadium.

Just days after the 2013 AFL Grand Final, Clubs from across the competition converged at Etihad Stadium for the commencement of the combine on Tuesday afternoon.

The GC SUNS recruiting team spent the afternoon interviewing potential draftees. For most of the players it wasn't the first time the GC SUNS had interviewed them, but this time, the GC SUNS recruiters were joined by club sports psychologist, Tracey Vievers.

GC SUNS Recruiting Manager, Dom Ambrogio, told goldcoastfc.com.au that the club would speak to up to 30 potential draftees this week alone.

"It's a busy week, we will interview as many guys as we can, sometimes that could be for the third or fourth time we have sat down with them or their families.

"Recruiting any player to your club requires a lot of work, it's not just watching them play, there are so many other factors that play a role in why you select a player and this week helps us gather a lot of information that will help us make those decisions."

Following an afternoon of interviews, players also went through the process of recording their height, weight, skinfolds, arm length and handspan before psychomotor testing concentrating of reaction time, decision making and peripheral awareness.

Then for the first time the players graced  the playing service at Etihad Stadium to complete vertical jump testing.

After an hour's dinner break, it was back to the corporate suites at Etihad Stadium for further player interviews.
