Charlie Dixon will be closely monitored by the club's medical staff this week, after sustaining an ankle  injury in the final term of the GC SUNS victory over North Melbourne at Metricon Stadium.

Dixon played his first match back on Saturday night after missing four matches with an ankle complaint suffered against Fremantle in Round 6.

GC SUNS General Manager of Football Operations Manager - Marcus Ashcroft, updated goldcoastfc.com.au on Dixon's injury.

"Charlie injured his ankle late in  last nights match against the Kangaroos."

"It's the same ankle Charlie had trouble with earlier in the year, and the complaint is likely to be something that we just have to manage."

"We will treat Charlie symptomatically and depending  on how he responds to that treatment will determine if he will be available for selection later this week. "

Dixon has played 29 matches for the GC SUNS and has booted 21 goals, 11 of which have come in his seven matches in 2013.
