Fearless Gold Coast SUNS defender, Seb Tape has been ruled out of Sunday’s game against St Kilda at Etihad Stadium.
The GC SUNS youngster lost three front teeth during the second term of the last weeks match against the Crows.
Tape is expected to miss one match, allowing time for his teeth to settle.
The gutsy defender played through until half-time before GC SUNS medical staff hospitalised him repair the damage.
"I was a bit rattled after it and my tongue went straight to the gap so I knew my teeth were missing but it didn't really hurt so I thought I'd just play on," he said.
Luckily for Tape, GC SUNS physio Stuart McKenzie found his teeth on the Metricon Stadium surface allowing doctors to replace them.
Tape, who was back in the chair today undergoing a root canal to allow the blood supply to return to his teeth says he will now always where a mouthguard.
"I've always had one but it always ends up in my sock because I find it so uncomfortable," he said.
"I always prefer not to wear it, but I'll get one made up now to protect the chops."
