The Gold Coast SUNS had every player out in the community last week for its Junior Club Pie Night.

Pie nights are a longstanding football tradition, a rallying call for players and their families and friends to get together and celebrate football, and one perfectly aligned with the GC SUNS commitment to local communities and the grassroots football.

GC SUNS players visited all 11junior clubs to meet players, fans and club members on the night, their last chance before the end of the junior season. They also signed autographs and assisted junior coaches with training as part of their visit.

“The players were really looking forward to getting out in the Community amongst the junior players and families this week before the season ends,” Community Programs Officer Corey Bell said. “The visit is mainly to say thank you for their overwhelming support this season, but the fact the player’s really enjoy these kinds of events is an added bonus.”
