Gary Ablett has claimed his second successive Gold Coast Club Champion Award, taking the honour at a sold-out event at Southport on Saturday night.
Ablett, who was awarded votes in all but two of the 20 matches he played, polled 215 votes, winning ahead of Harley Bennell (163 votes) and Danny Stanley (84 votes).
Ablett was sensational in 2012, leading the AFL in kicks (389) and averaging 34 disposals per game.
Senior coach Guy McKenna and his three assistants can award up to five votes each for a match, meaning the maximum one player can earn from one match is 20 votes.
Despite falling short to Ablett, Bennell's brilliance was on display throughout the season, with the star midfielder receiving the maximum 20 votes on two occasions.
He registered votes in 20 of his 22 matches. Stanley's continued improvement didn't go unnoticed with the match committee, moving from fifth in last year's count to third in 2012.
He missed the first seven matches through injury and suspension, but polled votes in all of his 13 games.
Bennell won the most improved player award, while West Australian recruit Kyal Horsley was named the most professional.
