The GCFC website now includes even more features for fans to get involved with the Club, in the march to 2011. Some recently added tools make it easy for fans to share their favourite articles and their thoughts and ideas, either directly on the site or via their Facebook and Twitter pages.

On news articles, blogs and player profiles throughout the site, you will now see the following options;

  • Prominent ‘share’ buttons at the top of each news article and blog to easily allow you to share the article with your friends via Facebook and Twitter
  • A ‘Like’ button on articles and player profiles, linking your favourite GCFC stories and players directly to your Facebook profile, letting your friends know you recommend the article. You will also be able to see which of your friends have also read the same story.
  • The opportunity for fans to post a comment directly on the site after each news article or blog – and by logging in via your Facebook or Twitter account, you can share your thoughts with your friends at the same time.
  • The @GoldCoastFC twitter feed is now also visible directly on the Club’s website homepage, giving fans even more up-to-date information and news about the Club.

Gold Coast Football Club General Manager – Communications and Community, Greg Price said that using the social media and online tools that are available is crucial for the Club to build its fan and member base in the lead up to entering the AFL competition in 2011.

“Social media allows the Club to communicate our stories, players and programs far and wide, but most importantly throughout the local Gold Coast community – by developing our website and using the available technology, we can speak directly to our existing and new fans”.
