Digging deep for White Christmas
Local businesses are digging deep to gift the disadvantaged as part of the city's biggest Christmas appeal.
The White Christmas Charity Event - where 3000 less fortunate are treated to an unforgettable White Christmas experience at Movie World where they can enjoy the park's facilities, dinner and have a photo with Santa.
The event is on this Sunday and is still open for sponsors to donate.
Gold Coast SUNS player Nathan Bock yesterday thanked Marcus and Karen Seefeld from ASAP Glass for their $2000 donation, and Belle Petersen and Chris Lynch from Alto and Mario's Restaurant for their $1500.
"The community doesn't get the opportunity to give to the less fortunate that often," Brock said.
"We really encourage everyone to get involved and donate if they can."
Mrs Seefeld said they were grateful for the chance to give back to the less fortunate.
"We're fortunate enough to be able to give back to the community, not many people can at this time," she said.
"The looks on the children's faces, the atmosphere on the night, it's such a special event for them. It makes them feel worthwhile."
Mr Lynch said they loved giving back to the community and supporting the charity for the third consecutive year.
Sign Event has also donated $2000, but more donations are needed.
