Facing a short turnaround until Thursday night’s clash with St Kilda, the SUNS match committee have plenty to consider at the selection table this week.
Senior Coach Stuart Dew flagged there would be changes to the team this week after the side’s loss to GWS on Sunday.
Medium forward Sean Lemmens is one who is most likely to return to the line-up after Dew called him out as a potential inclusion last week.
Lemmens had the birth of his first child the day before the game against GWS so wasn’t considered for selection but is now available and is in strong form from recent scratch matches.
The SUNS had five players loaned to Brisbane and Essendon last Friday in their scratch match who are in consideration for Round 10 after a six-day break.
Uncapped pair Jeremy Sharp and Sam Flanders were amongst the five and continue to edge closer to their respective AFL debuts.
Brayden Fiorini was another in that match and was arguably the best afield playing for the Bombers’ outfit.
Big men Caleb Graham and Zac Smith rounded out the five and could be in consideration if there are deemed to be any changes necessary in the key position personnel.
In Gold Coast’s scratch match against the Bulldogs on Sunday afternoon there were also some standouts.
Josh Corbett continues to put up strong numbers with another three goals to his name while Will Brodie, Peter Wright, Corey Ellis and Jesse Joyce have all been senior emergencies in recent weeks.
