Gold Coast SUNS’ football operations aid Simon Littlechild received the ultimate show of respect at the 68th J.A. Grogan Medal Awards on Tuesday night, with the Gold Coaster named the 2013 NEAFL Volunteer of the Year.

Admired by the entire GC SUNS Development staff for his tireless efforts with the clubs Reserves team, Littlechild accepted the gong in front of more than 250 guests at the annual NEAFL awards ceremony held in the Gabba’s Legends Room.

For GC SUNS NEAFL coach - Shaun Hart, there was no volunteer more deserving than the man dubbed “Tiny”.

“Tiny (Littlechild) is just an extra-mile man that goes above and beyond for the entire Club,” he said.

“He is well respected by the players and always gets the job done.”

“He certainly deserved the Award."
