Gold Coast Football Club's gallant finals run has come to end after losing to a rampant Geelong Falcons in the TAC Cup semi final today.

The Falcons who finished the TAC Cup season six games clear on top of the ladder scored 11.14 80 to Gold Coast's 5.9 39 at Visy Park in Melbourne.

Gold Coast Coach Guy McKenna paid tribute to his team of young Queenslanders saying they had already exceeded expectations by qualifying for the finals so every game in September was an added bonus.

Captain Marc Lock kicked two goals with one each to Todd Grayson, Charlie Dixon and Taylor Rolfe.

Best players for the Coast were Rory Thompson. Mitch Harley, Marc Lock, Zac Smith and Josh Milani.
