The Gold Coast SUNS can confirm first-year player Annise Bradfield has sustained a rupture to her ACL.
Bradfield left the field with the knee injury in the opening quarter of the QClash against Brisbane and wasn’t able to play out the game.
AFLW Head Physiotherapist Aaron Duffy told the Qscan Injury Update Bradfield had been subsequently ruled out for the remainder of the season.
“We’ve had some scans done early this week and that’s confirmed an ACL rupture (for Annise),” Duffy said.
“We’ll consult with a specialist later on in the week to determine the best course of action moving forwards, but she’ll be unavailable for the rest of the AFLW season.”
Defender Cheyenne Hammond also came off during the match with a rolled ankle but was able to play out the match with no concern and is available for selection.
Ellie Hampson has been ruled out for the match against GWS in Blacktown as she continues to recover from a foot injury.
“Ellie is progressing well and is working really hard at her rehab,” Duffy said.
“We’ll continue to move her along with that as she’s able to but at this stage she’s unavailable for Round 3.”
The team for Round 3 will be announced on Friday afternoon.
