It’s open slather on voting for the Austworld Player of the Round this week with all 23 players in contention following Thursday night’s memorable victory against Richmond.

Touk Miller led all comers on the field once again with a game-high 36 touches, including 14 in the opening term. Brandon Ellis and Brayden Fiorini also led any Richmond player with 28 and 25 touches respectively.

Ben King was prolific in front of goal, kicking four majors from five shots at goal and finishing with 10 score involvements.

Ben Ainsworth, Josh Corbett, Izak Rankine, Alex Sexton and David Swallow all chimed in with a goal each, as did fourth-gamer Jeremy Sharp kicked his first in AFL football late in the final quarter.

Charlie Ballard and Jack Lukosius were immense in defence, regularly chiming in with big marks, reeling in nine and ten each respectively, the former leading the SUNS with three contested grabs.

Miller led the SUNS for tackles with nine, but it was the pressure across the board which was the catalyst for the victory with Swallow (7), Sam Day (6), Nick Holman (6), Sean Lemmens (6) and Sam Flanders (5) following closely behind the stand-in skipper.

The returning Sam Collins left it all on the line against one of the AFL’s most potent attacks, as did Wil Powell who had a 50th game to remember with six intercepts, while it’s a very happy birthday for Matt Rowell who chipped in with 17 touches, four tackles and four clearances.
