Veteran Michael Barlow has continued his strong run of form to start the season with a game-high eight votes in the SUNS’ NEAFL win in Mackay.
Barlow was prolific with 46 disposals on the day against the GIANTS, including eight marks and 10 clearances.
Meanwhile Jesse Lonergan was in the votes once again this week, recording five for his role in the midfield alongside Jacob Dawson who also polled five votes.
Dawson’s fine start to the year has him placed second on the overall leaderboard after the first two rounds and pressing for AFL selection.
Will Brodie registered three votes in the midfield while Brad Scheer rounded out the SUNS vote-getters, impressing with his overhead marking to score two votes.
The NEAFL MVP Award is presented to the player uniquely judged the best in the competition by a combination of umpire and coach’s votes.
The votes are submitted post-game cast on a 5-4-3-2-1 basis. As such, the maximum amount of votes a single player can earn per match is 10 – courtesy of the maximum five votes from both umpires and coaches.
