Ablett, who missed the GC SUNS final training session at Metricon Stadium on Friday, was withdrawn from the match on Friday evening.
Gold Coast SUNS General Manager Football Operations Marcus Ashcroft confirmed the news to goldcoastfc.com.au.
"Gary wasn't able to train this morning as he was suffering a sore calf.
He had scans on his calf this afternoon and while there is no evidence of a muscle tear there is significant inflammation around the muscle and as such he will be unable to play this weekend," Ashcroft said.
With Ablett withdrawing, the GC SUNS have included Jared Brennan in the 22-man squad as his replacement.
The GC SUNS emergency players remain unchanged as Brennan comes into 22 from outside original team list.
