Sam Day and Seb Tape will make their return from injury against Greater Western Sydney this weekend, with the pair named in Guy McKenna’s extended 25-man squad ahead of the team’s Round 22 match at Metricon Stadium.
The Gold Coasters missed the interstate trip to take on St. Kilda, with Tape recovering from concussion and Day from a minor hamstring strain.
GC SUNS General Manager of Football Operations – Marcus Ashcroft, told goldcoastfc.com.au the returning players would be welcomed back to the senior team.
“Seb served a week out with his concussion and he didn’t pass one of the stages last week and was ruled out last weekend, but he has had an extra week of recovery and is medically fit to play,” Ashcroft said.
“Sam has missed a few weeks with a hamstring injury but has been training at almost 100% for the last week and is fit enough to play out a full AFL match so he comes back in to the side.”
Meanwhile, Jarrod Harbrow will be rushed back in to the team after missing Round 23 with illness.
“Jarrod was a late withdrawal with illness but is fit and is an automatic inclusion to the side.”
Unfortunately Leigh Osborne (calf), Daniel Gorringe (Abdominal), Greg Broughton (Achilles) has been ruled out with injuries while Steven May accepted one-match sanction at the Match Review Panel earlier this week.
In a show of show of confidence for the lively forward, McKenna has named Timmy Sumner in the Centre Half-Forward position alongside Aaron hall and Jacob Gillbee.
