The Gold Coast SUNS will be boosted by the return of an experienced defender this week.
Sean Lemmens has overcome a calf injury and been declared fit to play this weekend.
“Sean has been building up over the last few weeks and pleasingly has been able to progress through his rehab,” GC SUNS Head Physiotherapist Lindsay Bull told the Qscan Injury Update.
“He will train fully this week and will be available for selection on the weekend.”
Wil Powell returned to action in the VFL on Saturday, playing a half of football after his pre-season hamstring injury.
“Wil played his first game back since his hamstring injury on the weekend and we were really pleased with how he was able to perform,” Bull said.
“Wil has ticked all the boxes and will be available for selection again this weekend.”
Brandon Ellis is continuing to rehabilitate his calf injury, although there remains no certain timeframe for his return.
Lachie Weller also made his long-awaited return from an ACL injury in the AFL match on the weekend and looked assured off half-back.
