The Gold Coast match committee will be forced into at least one change to the side this week after Ben Ainsworth was ruled out with injury.
Ainsworth has played a mixture of midfield and forward roles this year, as one of many players who have been flexible enough to play dual positions.
It means the match committee may not necessarily opt to bring in a like-for-like replacement.
Should Touk Miller prove he has overcome his heel injury, he would be the one most likely to resume his place in the side.
George Horlin-Smith is another who played in the NEAFL on the weekend and stood out with his leadership in the midfield.
He played on the wing and may come in to fill that position this week.
With GWS boasting Coleman Medal leader Jeremy Cameron in the forward line alongside in-form key forwards Harry Himmelberg and Jeremy Finlayson, Jack Leslie could be in line for a call-up to boost the side’s key position stocks.
Sam Day is another in contention to come in, but may be required in the backline with Peter Wright, Ben King and Josh Corbett occupying the forward-line.
Will Brodie and Josh Schoenfeld both found a lot of the football in the NEAFL loss also.
