With a host of players returning from injury for Round 11, the SUNS Match Committee have a number of decisions ahead of them.

There will be no debate surrounding the Little Master Gary Ablett, who’ll return to the senior side from a one week shoulder niggle.

Despite an interrupted month, Matt Rosa also appears likely to slot straight back into senior selection should he satisfy final concussion protocols.

However, much discussion will surround Ben Ainsworth and Rory Thompson and whether they are best to build fitness at NEAFL level or return straight to the senior line-up.

Both could arguably be valuable inclusions come Saturday but Match Committee may hesitate to replace Brandon Matera and Jack Leslie, who have been showing clear signs of development and improvement so far this year.

Jesse Lonergan (test) will be eager to regain his spot in Rocket’s best 22, however, his recent time on the sideline may require him to come back through the NEAFL.

It’s a similar situation for Mitch Hallahan and Jarrd Grant, who despite being eager to crack a senior berth are expected to pull on the red and gold to face Southport for the NEAFL.

Trent McKenzie has been stranded on 99 AFL games for over a year and will likely need a few games in the NEAFL before notching up his 100th game.

Foundation SUN Matt Shaw, Keegan Brooksby, Josh Schoenfeld are also pushing their case each week for a senior call up while draftee Jack Scrimshaw is working towards his AFL debut.
