The Gold Coast SUNS have completed a trade with Carlton for midfielder Elijah Hollands.
The SUNS receive a 2024 third-round selection tied to Essendon in return for Hollands, while sending the SUNS’ future fourth-round selection and pick 28 to move up to pick 26 in this year’s draft.
GC SUNS General Manager of Player Talent & Strategy Craig Cameron said the trade was in line with club’s strategy.
“Elijah was looking to return to Victoria for more opportunity at AFL level which we were happy to facilitate, and we thank him for his efforts with the Gold Coast SUNS,” Cameron said.
“By exchanging our selections in this year’s draft with Carlton we have been able to increase our points total to secure our Academy talent and we have also acquired a future selection we can utilise next year.”
The Continental Tyres AFL Trade Period concludes at 7:30pm AEDT tonight.
